Lane Bethay Art

One of our favorite aspects of running FTF is getting to meet amazing people that love home decor, art, and design as much as we do. We’re always on the hunt for exciting things to share with our followers, and our Artist Spotlight series is one way we really get a chance to do that. This month, we’re finally back with our latest artist find: Lane Bethay. Be sure to follow her on Instagram: @lanebethayart or visit her site for a full collection of her works.

Here’s a bit more background on Lane, in her own words:

I am a Birmingham, AL based abstract painter.  I specialize in large scale, acrylic paintings, but dabble in watercolor and graphite sketches as well.  I enjoy the challenge of balancing both colors and content, always chasing the perfect composition.  I spent almost 5 years as a full time photographer.  My love for black and white photos spills over into my painting.  I love bold contrast of both color and wide brush strokes.  I crave the creative process, and find the limitless possibilities in painting the most thrilling and have been excited to pick up my paint brush every morning since putting down my camera and committing myself to being a full time painter.

My grandfather was a carpenter/builder, my dad is an amazing oil painter, my grandmother is the queen of interiors and party planning.  Growing up around creatives has pushed me to use my hands and my imagination, but mostly to believe in myself and my instincts.

I am a mom to two young boys and wife to my husband, Jack.  We are homebodies that enjoy evenings playing with neighbors, family golf, good food, trips to the beach and fall football.  I'm so very blessed with the most supportive family and group of friends!

Lane has been generous to offer up a beautiful original 20x20” gold framed piece entitled “hummingbird” in our Artist Spotlight giveaway. Be sure to check out our Instagram for the rules to participate, with entries ending 9/17/20 at 8PM.
