5 Holiday Hosting Tips
Hosting is a bit like a workout for your home , and we are all a bit out of shape when it comes to having guests in our houses! Hosting can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! Here are 5 tips you can do in advance of hosting to make your space ready without the hassle. So, once your guests arrive, you can sit back with a glass of wine and truly enjoy catching up with loved ones.
Frequently Used Items ! Do a bit of prep and have items on hand that your guests might forget! It’s a great time to leave out some samples that you’ve (certainly) collected over the last few months! My SIL always has a basket with luxe samples that she’s gotten, and it’ makes it feel some relaxing to try something new!
One store bought item for every meal! Once I made this rule, hosting was so much more enjoyable! Grab a salad kit, pre-made garlic bread, or dessert and don’t add another thing to your list to manage.
Break out the good stuff! Now is the time to use your (actual) linen napkins, glassware, and fun serve wear. You can always get these items out ahead, make a quick list and leave it out to reference in your kitchen. If you are lucky enough to have someone offer to help, you’ll have an easy task of setting the table or getting glasses prepped for dinner.
Run your dishwasher while you are eating meals! Then it’s a quick empty and refill after a big meal. Plus, you’ll probably have space to cram in some larger items that you used to prep. Also… if you don’t use Dawn Powerwash, you should start ASAP.
Slippers! Have some inexpensive pairs on hand. That way, people are less likely to wear their shoes inside and they’ll feel super cozy. Walmart has a huge variety and even some inexpensive, $4 styles.
