How to Decorate Small Spaces

Fun fact: the two of us met in college at Clemson University and were dorm room neighbors our sophomore year! It was 10 years ago, and my how things have changed since our dorm room style. One thing is for sure though, living in a dorm not only builds character, but teaches you how to live “small”.

Looking back, there is something to be said about learning to live in smaller spaces. As we entered the “real world” and rented apartments and houses, we also learned a good deal about finding furniture and decor that is hard working but stylish.

Although we both are homeowners now, we find that even in a more permanent space, if your home isn’t your “forever” home, then you also feel the need to be practical about your purchases, selecting items that are dual purpose and budget friendly.

The Home Depot is a great resource - we have consistently found some of our favorite brands from our looks for less on their website. Not to mention that we have both renovated our current homes, which means lots of trips in person to The Home Depot… sometimes multiples times in a weekend. We are typically shopping in store for garden center items or home repairs. The selection online of furniture, lighting, and rugs is even broader than you could ever imagine and well beyond what is offered in store. They make shopping easy with free shipping on orders over $45 and free returns at their stores.
