Blue Oriental Style Rug

This one looks identical to us… but the splurge says it is handwoven in the description, while the savvy notes that it’s machine made. The splurge color appears to be a bit lighter, but honestly we tend to find that Anthropologie does have an “aesthetic” that they stick to with their styling and images, so the true color may be difficult to determine until reviews are listed.

Many high end retailers will curate and select the same items that you find on Wayfair, Overstock, and and add some “production value” by styling them in a more appealing way . If you are on a more high end site, and you find something that seems like a great price, be sure to search around. Many times, these retailers will bring you in with a splurge worthy item, and then you’ll shop around and settle for something less expensive (relatively). Unfortunately, their markup is higher, but you still feel like you snagged a deal. We have even made this mistake on One Kings Lane for a rug, and it turns out it was Safavieh and available for much less elsewhere.
